“The mission of the Philadelphia Bathroom Access Map is to address the lack of accessibility. It aims to provide a resource for those out and about in the city, and for those who cannot enjoy a nice day without anxiety. The inspiration for this project comes from my mother. She has Ulcerative Colitis and carries with her a card that permits her to use restrooms at most establishments. However, not everyone can have this card, nor does this card mean that there is a restroom nearby to use. This map is by and for Philadelphia. Take care of it, and it will take care of you.”
